Dive into anything

I don't see a stickied thread of reputable retailers, & I have not bought an electric motorcycle yet, so this might be better if it was done by someone else. *by reputable I mean that you will definitely get something from them and not be completely ripped off, like you might if you buy from alibaba. Your actual experience with customer service, shipping time, or quality of product is a different story. I am in no way recommending any of these, I have never purchased from any of them. I am just collecting them in one place and saying that other people have purchased things from them and got something.

Please add to this or do it better than me, and then if we could get it stickied I think that would be great.

"Real" Motorcycles

These are bikes that can go on the highway and can be registered and licensed. You need a motorcycle license to ride them.

Zero

A range of selections, they have been making electric motorcycles for years. It should also be noted that they are anti-right-to-repair, which very much goes against the ethos of motorcycle riding IMO. Some customers are also experiencing some dangerous software errors.

Harley Livewire

Harley made an electric bike.

Livewire bike without the Harley branding.

Energica

Top of the line sport bike.

RGNT Bikes

Swedish made bike with a top speed of around 77 mph. Beautiful bikes. Around $13,000. Will begin shipping to US this year.

Lightning LS218

Fastest Electric Bike in the world. $38,800. They also have a normal speed one for half that price.

Super Soco TC

Cafe Racer inspired e-motorcycle. Very stylish, a might slow, top speed is only just 60mph. This one is sort of borderline whether it should be with the scooters or the motorcycles, but since it can be registered, it's here.

Kollter

Kollter has a variety of offerings, including some which are fairly reasonably priced yet which can still be registered and make highway speeds, just.

Cake bikes

Some of their bikes are street legal. Top speed is only 56 mph, so you cannot take them on the highway, but you can put a tag on them and you do need a motorcycle license to ride them. This model is $11,400.

Huck Cycles

As far as I understand, they make pretty cool looking bikes that are more equivalent to a moped, you CAN get them registered and plated but CANNOT take them on the highway (tell me if I have this wrong).

Black Tea Motorcycles

Top speed is 60 mph. Site says 'street legal' in USA but I am not sure if they are DOT certified or not. M1 license endorsement required. German made. I moved these to the real section, because as I understand it some people have already received production versions of these bikes, though in Germany, not in the US YET.

Land Moto

Made in Cleveland. I checked with their support today and they have 3 ride modes. Ebike mode, Moped mode, Moto mode. Moto mode can go "above 65 mph" according to them and requires a motorcycle license and is DOT certified. The only thing they didn't answer is if these have actually already shipped or if they are expected to ship soon. Their website says they are currently shipping, and orders placed now will ship 'soon'.

Ox motorcycles

They have two variations currently and are planning on revealing a few more soon. They say they should be delivering orders this month. If you live in Spain or Europe this looks pretty sweet. Not sure when we can expect them available elsewhere.

Evoke

Evoke has several offerings from a range of prices and a range of performance and style. From ~$8,500 to $30,000. You are buying from a company in Beijing. They have been in business since 2018 and some people have reportedly successfully bought things from their site. Their presence outside of China in order to offer maintenance or support is minimal to nonexistent, so be wary.

Dirt Bikes

These are bikes which cannot be ridden on streets. They do not require a license, you cannot put plates on them or insure them. They DO go very fast. Think Motocross or similar.

Luna Sur Ron

Luna has conversion kits for bikes, and some fully made bikes. The Sur Ron is their dirt bike offering. Strictly off-road.

Electric motion

dirt / Trials bikes. Very mature bike that has been shipping for years and very competitive/ arguably better than similar ICE bikes.

KTM E-bike

KTM is a trusted name in dirt bikes. They produce some of the best motorcycles available. This is there E-bike which retails around $11,000.

Talaria Sting

Very nice looking dirt bike that is much more affordable than the Sur Ron or the Cake. $4,200.

Scrambler Style or Moped Style

Some of these bikes can be registered. Some cannot. Some have pedals, some do not. Some require a motorcycle license, some do not. None of them can achieve highway speeds. Often used by delivery people in cities.

Super 73

Fun ride around city bikes. Moped style. Functional pedals.

Ariel Rider

These are also more like mopeds. Can't be plated, can't go on roads legally. Functional pedals.

Pursang E-Tracker

Only available in Europe. Pretty cool looking. No pedals.

Juiced bikes

Another ebike company that has some offerings that may fit the bill for what you are looking for. They offer the scorpion and the scrambler which are similar to a moped type bike, but still not able to be registered. Functional pedals.

Coast Cycles

Moped style. Low speed, no registration. Functional Pedals.

Rieju Nuuk

Pretty weird looking 'motorcycle', but they have moped or scooter style which look very much like their gas counterparts. The Motorcycle offering has a top speed of 100 km/h (~60 mph) so I am including it in the moped style even though it seems as though they can be tagged.

Velimotor VGX06

I don't know if this is a reputable company. Has anyone bought from here before? They have a nice looking city bike (can't go highway speeds) that is able to be registered and is very reasonably priced, but I'm not certain they are reliable.

Onyx

Very cool looking moped/cafe racer style bikes. They offer one version that can attain 60 mph, but even that version cannot be registered, tagged, or insured. Functional pedals.

CSC

CSC has a few offerings including a cafe racer styled bike and sportier looking bike. They ARE available. They CAN be tagged and ridden on the street. They do not quite achieve highway speeds.

Theoretical Bikes

These are bikes that are taking reservations. Reviewers have gotten to see them, so they exist, but customers have not yet received any orders.

Sondors

Sondors makes ebikes. They are a reliable manufacturer and seller of those. They MAY be coming out with the Metacycle soon, which many are excited about if it can hit their claims. 85 mph top speed, 80 mile range, street legal, $5,000.

Tarform

Looks super cool. Just like the Metacycle, we'll see what it's like when they actually ship. Base price is $24,000.

Damon Hypersport

Sweet looking, expensive, high-performing, theoretical bike.

Super 73

MAY BE coming out with a bike that can be registered, unknown if it will be able to attain highways speeds.

Stark Varg

Cost is $11,900. They have 5,000+ orders and delivery by the end of the year, hopefully....

Switch eScrambler

Cost is $12000. New Zealand company. They claim a delivery date of second half of 2022 for USA and New Zealand. Pretty sweet looking scrambler style. Not sure if it will be DOT certified or not. Apparently they have already delayed the delivery date a few times, was originally supposed to be released in 2020(? )

Veitis

Very nice looking British bike. Stats put it in the "real" motorcycle category, roughly equivalent to a 125cc, but it is not quite available yet. Price is unknown.

EVA Rocket-1

Unique looking 'cafe inspired' emotorcycle. I contacted the company and they said they will ship with a VIN number and that they recommend registering and insuring them. Apparently one version will have a max speed of 25mph. They only have one price mentioned on the site so, not sure what the price points will be for different models. Site says top speed is 60 mph. And retail price is $4,700. They ignored the part of my email that asked if any units had already shipped, but this is pretty common for these companies.

Fuell Fllow

Another in the 'coming soon' category. They have decided to go with a futuristic looking design, which I like. And the stats look promising. $10,995 is towards the high-end, but in-line with what people are comfortable spending on a new motorcycle.

Horwin

Various models, looks pretty nice. Not clear to me if these are available in the states or just in Australia and Europe. Also not clear if these are actually shipping or still theoretical, there does not seem to be a 'purchase' button on their website, at least the models I looked at.

Truvor scrambler by Denzel

This looks like a pretty neat looking Chinese bike that is trying to establish a presence outside of China to deal directly with the consumer in a variety of countries. Honestly, it's a pretty smart idea since the market seems to be there (though just beginning). The Truvor scrambler seems promising and they have 3 different models of motorcycle. No word yet on whether they will be street legal or what the top speed will be. Time will tell.

Others

Apparently Yamaha, Honda and Vespa have at least prototypes if not production electric offerings. Yamaha and Honda have electric dirt bikes and Vespa has an electric scooter similar to their classic gasoline scooter. Looking for more information to add links.

Vespa

Street legal, but top speed is 45 mph, not so different from their normal scooter. Also, not quite as iconic looking as their normal scooter. Still, Vespa has dealerships all over the place, so you have good options for maintenance.
